Day Eleven Dinner Debriefing: Rancho Alegro

We picked this place because it’s close. It’s in a strip mall, and the windows are full of neon beer signs. As to the wine list, I’ll just say they have more than one kind, and we went with Daiquiris. Inside, though, it’s fairly comfy, and the food was good. Our waiter steered Caroline away from the fish tacos, which may have been a good thing as they were so good in Sisters. She had the Carnita de Res, instead, which looked exactly like beef fajitas to me, except it didn’t come on a hot iron skillet. I had the Burrito Colorado, which had chunks of steak in a mildly spicy red sauce for a filling. I almost ordered the ground beef to play it safe, because who puts quality beef in a burrito? The waiter gave me a gentle nudge in the right direction, and I enjoyed it – the beef was tasty and tender.
